DODD SIGNS FOR BASHLEY
Tuesday evening Bashley signed Matthew Dodd from Christchurch, his
registration has been processed by the league, he is now available to play on
Saturday afternoon (3:00pm) away at Wimborne Town in what promises to be a
tough local derby. Reduced admission of £5 for adults, £2 for concessions and
free for children makes this a must travel to match to blow away the festive
We welcome our exciting new addition Matt to Bashley Road and look forward
seeing him slot into our existing Bashley squad. As a natural defender he
benefits from a strong physique, while comfortable either in the air or defending
1-vs-1. Matt is also positive when in possession and has an ability to instigate
attacks from deep.
Our next home match is Thursday, New Year’s day (3:00pm) when we take on
the visit of Sholing who currently languish in 17th place in the league. We have
entertained them twice this season losing both times, 4-2 in the Red Insure Cup
and 1-0 in the FA Trophy back in October. With league points at stake all efforts
will be focussed on over turning Sholing this time around.
This match is followed by another home match with the visit of Bridgwater Town
on Saturday 3rd January (3:00pm). Bridgwater was our opening fixture of this
season’s campaign back on August 9th where we went down 4-0. Much has
changed in the period since, again renewed optimism throughout the club that
we can get a result against the mid table side from Somerset.
